In a period of physical and social distancing during the total curfew due to the COVID-19 pandemic, the concept of distance took on another dimension. Isolation created the need for psychological support and led to more communication with our loved ones, wherever they were. With restrictions imposed to prevent the spread of the virus, social distancing has encouraged the use of other forms of communication. There was no difference between being in the same city as the other or on the other side of the world. The conditions set made it imperative to re-examine the concept of physical distance, forcing us to forget our automated behaviors. We were asked to redefine ourselves and discover more consciously our immediate environment. The closest escape to nature within the defined geographical radius of each person’s residence was also their personal escape. This photographic series was created exclusively during total prohibition. Athens 2020.
