Course Outline
LECTURES
- Introduction to the history of lighting in various art forms and featuring peculiarities in the art of photography
- Lighting as a dinstictive feature of photography and its dialogue with the most important movements of art.
- Photography in advertising
- Photography in cinema
- The photo studio
- The natural light and flash units
LABORATORY
- Directional and diffused lighting
- How to properly assess the quality and quantity of light with suitable measuring instruments
- How to use artificial lighting and flash units as well as their combination with existing light.
- How to handle lighting units and accessories in the photo studio and in the field.
- How to photograph in the studio plain objects, still life compositions and portrait as a condition to cope with the various forms of photography, such us fine art photography, commercial, fashion and animation.
- How to photograph using a large format camera and its association with single lens reflex camera (SLR).
