Dr. Aravantinos graduated from the Physics Department of the School of Science, University of Athens, received his Master’s Degree with a specialization in Nuclear Physics from the Nuclear Research Center “Demokritos” and was awarded a PhD in Nuclear Physics from the Physics Department of the University of Athens. His research interests are mainly focused on Nuclear Physics, Optical Interferometry and Holography. He has authored numerous notes and educational aids, has published a significant number of scientific monographs, presented his works at scientific conferences and in journals, and has also participated as the Principal Investigator in funded research projects.

He is a member of the Union of Greek Physicists (EEF), the Hellenic Society of Nuclear Physics, and the American Association of Physics Teachers. From 1995 and for a total of ten years, he was a Scientific Collaborator of the Greek Atomic Energy Commission. He served as Professor of Physics in the Energy Technology Engineering Department of the Technological Educational Institution (TEI) of Athens, and was responsible for the Laboratories of Holography, Optical Interferometry, and Scientific Photography. He has been teaching Physics in the Departments of Optics and Optometry, Topography and Energy Technology, while he served as Professor in the Department of Photography and Audiovisual Arts, where he has been teaching continuously since 1986 the subjects of: Physics of Image and Sound, Photographic Applications in Sciences, and Scientific Photography.
