Marina Karagianni holds a degree in Physics from the Physics Department of the National and Kapodistrian University of Athens and a PhD in Physics from the School of Applied Mathematical and Physical Sciences, NTUA. She is a research associate at the solid-state Nuclear Magnetic Resonance (NMR) Laboratory of the Institute of Nanoscience & Nanotechnology at the National Research Centre (NCSD) Demokritos. Her scientific work includes 24 publications in high-impact international journals, one patent application and more than 10 participations in international and national conferences.
She has many years of teaching experience as a laboratory assistant at TEI of Athens and Piraeus, as well as teaching postgraduate courses, educational seminars and supervising undergraduate and postgraduate theses.
She has been collaborating with the Department of Photography & Audiovisual Arts since 2002 as a laboratory assistant at TEI of Athens and since 2018 as an academic scholar and lecturer. Her educational activities at the department cover the subjects “Physics of Image & Sound”, “Scientific Photographic Applications” and “Scientific Photography”.
