2023 - Significant Awards for Yiannis Zindrilis, publication in the British Guardian newspaper

Publication in the British newspaper Guardian of works by Yiannis Zindrilis from the exhibition in Helsinki.

The graduate of the Department of Photography and Audiovisual Arts and postgraduate student of the PMS “Photography: Research and Methodology” Yiannis Zindrilis presented the photographic project “Ethnic Greece Homeless” at the Helsinki Festival in Finland.

The photos were taken during the team’s campaigns at four World Cups, namely in Glasgow, Oslo, Graz and Mexico City, from 2016 to 2018, as well as during their matches in refugee camps across the Greece. The group consists of homeless people, recovering substance abusers, immigrants, refugees and people living in extreme poverty. The series follows the “behind the scenes” missions, mainly during the preparation of the improvised stadiums and the backstages that revolve around it, as well as the activities after the end of each game, i.e. before and after the football event itself.

Images belong to the category of photographic documentation, a genre that produces clear and accurate representations of people, places and events.
